Bill Petrie, B.Sc.Geol. Non-Executive Chairman Bill is a petroleum geologist with more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry - he brings strong insight to the upstream exploration sector. Bill is currently president of Marengo Petroleum Corp., a private oil and gas exploration company. From 2001, to its sale in 2004, he was president of Montego Exploration Ltd., a private oil and gas company; from 1997 to 2001 president of Marengo Exploration Ltd., a public company, and was one of the founding directors of what is now Peyto Energy Trust from 1997 to 2000. Bill began his career in 1973 with Mobil Oil Canada. In 1977, he joined the junior sector where he been actively involved in public and private companies since 1980.

 

Derek Begin Director Derek brings passion and leadership to the Global Energy team. He has over 20 years of domestic and international oilfield experience with contractors, operators and service providers. It is this experience that gives him balanced perspective on the needs of all parties. With his unique combination of oilfield knowledge and his strategic focus on product innovation, Derek has created the foundation for an exciting future at Global Energy.

Sherry Rainsforth, Ph.D Director Sherry is an experienced executive with extensive and diverse board governance experience spanning the national and local levels for over twenty years. Her consulting company specializes in governance issues, strategic planning, policy development, corporate communications, and executive coaching.

Timothy S. Hoar Director Tim Hoar is a lawyer, businessman and corporate director. He has curtailed his day to day activity as a practicing lawyer. Tim's former practice included most aspects of business and securities law advising small to intermediate private and publicly listed companies on the TSX Venture Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Prior to founding ProVenture Law LLP and entering into private law practice, Tim had extensive corporate experience with Calgary based Chevron Standard, Home Oil and Geocrude Energy. Tim's experience includes all aspects of exploration, development and operations in the oil and gas industry as well as the mining industry.

 

 

Dell Chapman Director Dell Chapman, Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer since September 2010. Dell Chapman is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Financial Analyst with more than 30 years of oil and gas experience. Mr. Chapman joined Equal Energy in September 2010, prior to which he had been the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Berens Energy Ltd., a TSX-listed company, from its inception in 2003 until its sale in 2010. Before Berens, Mr. Chapman was Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer with Technicoil Corporation, and before that he was in the same role with Stellarton Energy Corporation. Previously, Mr. Chapman had also been a Manager, Finance at Suncor, and, from 1986 until 1995, was in various increasing senior financial roles with Gulf Canada Resources. Mr. Chapman graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1985 and his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1990

Marvin D. Clifton Director Mr. Clifton was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Technicoil on February 1, 2008. Prior to his appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Clifton served as the Corporation's President and Chief Operating Officer since December 2002. Mr. Clifton is responsible for providing overall leadership and general management for the company. Mr. Clifton has over 40 years experience in the oil and gas services industry including senior executive and management roles in public and private oil and gas service companies in Canada. Prior to joining Technicoil, Mr. Clifton was Senior Vice President, Operations of Precision Well Servicing.

 

R.D. (Bob) Steele, P.Eng Director Mr. Steele is an independant businessman and is currently a director of Technioil Corporation.  He was chairman of Board and Director of Berens Energy Ltd. from 2002 to March 2010 and was the Chief Executive Officer of Berens Energy Ltd. from 2002 to May 31, 2007.
